Nike and the Crystal Method teamed up recently to make a continuous mix made exclusively for a running workout. I felt the 45 minute track was too novel of an idea to pass by and bought it off of iTunes.
After giving it a try, I have mixed opinions. The beat is really good for running. I found it shifted intensities right at the times I felt it needed to change. So the beats themselves are outstanding.
The problem is the corniness of the vocal phrases. "Keep on moving. It's your time," and "keep your eyes on the road," didn't exactly fit with the funky rhythm. It then switched to "roll, baby, roll," which was markedly better. But then changed to "check you visual now," which isn't the greatest line to get repeated over and over again.
My run lasted 23 minutes, so I haven't listened to the rest. It's a good enough track where I'll use it again, but I'm hoping the next running based extended track is a little less awkward.
